Jun 26, 2008, dogs are so compassionateI just had shoulder surgery on my right shoulder and then will be going for the left. Not much work will be done on the site for a while. My dogs have been such a comfort to me. They are so compassionate and just know that something is wrong and are able to comfort you. It is a wonderful feeling and I would be lost without them. Australian Shepherds have their tail cropped when they are born. The reason for this is that they originated as herding dogs in the Australian Outback and their long fluffy tails would pick up burrs. To avoid having to clean their tails all the time they would crop them ! Jan 15, 2008, Riding HorsesToday was a snowy day in the northeast but we are used to it and keep doing what we do best ! I rode my horse Rowan today and she was full of energy ! I worked her on the ground for a full 20 minutes and then rode like the wind for another 20 minutes. Nothing like it in the world !
